Introduction of fiber optic jumper

Optical Fiber Patch Cable: After the optical fiber cable and the optical fiber connector are processed by a certain process, the two ends of the optical fiber cable are fixed on the optical fiber connector to form an optical fiber with an optical fiber cable in the middle and optical fiber connectors at both ends. Jumper.

Classification of fiber optic jumpers

Classification by mode: divided into single-mode fiber and multi-mode fiber

Single-mode optical fiber: the color of the general optical fiber jumper is yellow, and the connector and protective sleeve are blue; the transmission distance is longer;

Multimode fiber: OM1 and OM2 jumpers are orange, OM3 and OM4 jumpers are water green, the transmission distance of OM1 and OM2 is 550 meters at Gigabit rate, the transmission distance of OM3 is 300 meters at 10 Gigabit rate, and the transmission distance of OM4 is 550 meters. The speed is 400 meters; the connector and protective cover are beige or black;

Classified by connector type:

The commonly used fiber jumper types are LC fiber jumper, SC fiber jumper, FC fiber jumper and ST fiber jumper.

① LC fiber optic jumper: It is made of a modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism that is easy to operate, and is connected to an SFP optical module, which is often used in routers;

②SC fiber optic jumper: Its shell is rectangular, and its fastening method is a plug-in pin-bolt type, which does not need to be rotated. It is connected to a GBIC optical module. It is used most in routers and switches. It has the characteristics of low price and small fluctuations in access loss;

③FC fiber optic jumper: the outer protective cover is a metal cover, and the fastening method is a turnbuckle, which is most used on the distribution frame. It has the advantages of strong fastening and dust resistance;

④ ST fiber optic jumper: the shell is round, the fastening method is a turnbuckle, the fiber core is exposed, and the plug is inserted and rotated half a circle to fix it with a bayonet, which is mostly used for optical fiber distribution frames.

Classified by application:

Optical fiber jumpers are generally divided into MTP/MPO optical fiber jumpers, armored optical fiber jumpers, conventional optical fiber jumpers, etc. according to the application of the jumper.

①MTP/MPO fiber optic jumper: common in the fiber optic line environment that requires high-density integration during the wiring process, its advantages: use a simple push-pull locking structure, easy installation and removal, save time and cost, and can maximize the service life;

② Armored fiber optic jumper: common in computer rooms, suitable for harsh environments. Its advantages: no need to use protective casing, moisture-proof and fire-proof, anti-static and acid-alkali-resistant, can save space and reduce construction costs;

③ Conventional fiber jumper: Compared with MTP/MPO fiber jumper and armored fiber jumper, it has strong scalability, compatibility and interoperability, and can effectively reduce costs.
